Overview
VTOL VR is a near-futuristic combat flight simulator developed by , BahamutoD a.k.a. Paolo Encarnacion, original maker of the BDArmory mod for Kerbal Space Program. It was released on Steam Early Access on August 7, 2017. The game is built specifically for virtual reality and has players use their hands to flip switches, press buttons, and manipulate the virtual flight controls.
VTOL VR is playable on the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality. The game requires both a VR system's headset and controllers. There is optional rudder support, but no HOTAS.
The game is in Early Access and available for purchase on Steam.
VTOL VR offers many advanced multi-role jets:
- AV-42C Kestrel, a Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) capable vehicle.
- F/A-26B, a carrier based air-superiority fighter that can be configured for ground attack roles.
The game offers missions that put players in transport, air-to-surface, and air-to-air combat roles. Additionally, users can create their own maps and missions, or play other users' content.
